its no surprise people get annoyed.ītw are you a vampire or zombie or something like that char? do you even sleep? you seem to be always around 24/7. So ofcourse people can post their feedback but whether its useful or not is a whole different story. Maybe i just dont get it but i find it pointless to ask for a feature that has been widely discussed and most likely wont happen, hence, taking a step back and evaluate the situation.

i mean, there is so much information regarding this topic available its unreal. im not saying that they cant criticise or give feedback but i sometimes wonder if people actually think before they write something.

May note their comment was more defending the right to put in their feed back or opinion on the matter, and their expectation that giving said opinion would be accepted, rather than going out right to say "I payed for this, I expect to get what I want out of it." I mean sure, i d love to have many singleplayer games to at least have a co-op feature but fact is the world doesnt revolve around me and i need to accept that things dont always go the way i want. the whole statement about "i paid money for something so i want people to fulfill my demands" is quite arrogant and ignorant to be honest. People tend to be pretty on edge about this whole multiplayer topic because certain people cant accept that this game most likely will never have a multiplayer modus as it was programmed as singleplayer game and you can see almost every week a new thread popping up about the same topic while ignoring pinned threads about multiplayer which make the state of said feature actually quite crystal clear.Ĭriticism is fine but you sometimes need to take a step back and evaluate the situation whether its sensible/feasable to implement a certain feature or not. Its not like that a multiplayer feature improves the quality of a game anyways. you pay for whats offered and not what you want to have implemented in the future. If you dont think that the game has impeccable value because its missing one feature then dont buy it, simple as that. so if they decide they want to make a single player game then it will be that way. The thing is more like its their game and their project. If they choose not to do it, that’s their choice but asking them to work on a product that they are selling, assuming they aren’t in it for entirely profit, isn’t unreasonable or implausible. If I pay for a service or an object, it is the person’s job who is behind that service or object to deliver on the quality, so I don’t see it as rude to ask the developers to do something difficult or intensive for the game. Especially when I buy a game, I will willingly give my feedback to voice my opinion in hopes the game gets adapted to the way I would like it and that my voice is added to the undoubted thousands of others because positive or negative feedback is always helpful. When I pay for something, I want the highest quality possible. While I don’t claim to fully know the complexity of the coding behind making the game multiplayer, I will say this. I personally think the game would be better if you could chill out with you friends and farm, much like Stardew Valley. Second of all, I don’t know why you’re so up in arms about this. SR is a very unconventional game and multiplayer support would require a very creative solution.įirst of all, toxic lol. And it is worth restating that multiplayer with all of the physics in SR is a very hard problem. So in short, multiplayer is not ruled out, but we can't promise it either. However, anything is possible further out (beyond v1.0) if we continue to see the same level of wonderful support from players as we do now. So we decided to focus on solid single player experience.įor this reason we've stated in our official FAQ that Slime Rancher is being developed as a singleplayer game and there are no plans for multiplayer. And the hundreds of physics-enabled slimes bouncing around on screen needing to be in sync across two or more clients is a fantastically difficult problem to solve. Multiplayer is inherently more complicated and time-consuming to develop. One of those decisions was multiplayer vs singleplayer.

Most of Slime Rancher's development was done by two people (we're four now, thanks to your support!) so a lot of decisions were made early on to allow two developers to make a game in a realistic timeframe.
